The Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren, Prague - South City (Praha - Jižní Město)
The Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren is a Presbyterian church, established in 1918 by the unification
of the Protestant churches of the Reformed and Lutheran Confessions. The roots of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren however lie in the time of Czech Reformation starting
at the beginning of the 15th century - with the Hussite movement and continuing by the Unity of Brethren (Moravians).
Today, there are about 250 parishes all about the country, with about 80.000 members. We are one of the congregations in Prague.
Few years ago, in 2006, our congregation moved to a newly built church, The Milíč z Kroměříže Church.
We are an open fellowship of Christians.

Dear congregation, gathered in the name of Jesus Christ
The church is a cover for the soul. I was born into it. Always, when something bad happens, when we lose a dear person, when we experience a terrible illness, or after catastrophes, after the terrorist attack on 9/11, for example, many remember again that: yes, there is a place where we can meet and tell one another how naked and unprotected we feel, not only in highly private matters but as a community. Church is a cover for the soul of the
nation.
